I just finished watching the season 2 finale of True Blood. Maybe my expectations were too high. Maryann was killed off so easily…and afterwords the entire town just went back to drinking beer and talking about nothing. The title was telling the truth ” Beyond here lies nothing”. That’s exactly what the finale gave me, nothing. They killed off Eggs – the only person with a conscience – the only one that wanted to know what happened – and was deeply effected by the fact that he was so easily “taken over”. Eggs was the only one that was honest about something being wrong and questioned himself, his identity, and wanted to know answers, and instead of exploring that aspect, they killed him off. Then Bill tries to pretend to be human by asking Sookie to marry him, as if their isn’t more to Life then stupid human marriage??? Especially after everything that just went down!!!! I mean WTF! I waited two weeks for this???? What a disappointment!!!! Either the creators of True Blood had a better season finale and the network didn’t let them release it – or they don’t consciously know what they are doing with this plot.
Here are a few things I was hoping to see in the True Blood season finale:
- Maryann successfully “summons” this “god” – by doing so it opens up a dimension and the vibration triggers a memory in Sookie that she is more then human – with this there is more explanation as to why darkness exists, what it wants, and what it means to be human.
- Sookie get taken over by her being (christ self) and gives Maryann the spiritual death she is looking for. In awakening her dormant avatar, many memories come back to her….and Sookie can never be the same as she was before.
- Sookie wakes up from her spiritual amnesia and begins to talk about how she can remember every life time she has ever had – and who she was before time- and why she is here now- and why she is a telepath – because she is connected to her Soul – which everyone shares in common – aka the collective consciousness.
- Sookie begins to hear “mother nature” speaking in her mind – the tree’s and the earth – telling her about why humans are influenced by Maryann (darkness) and why Sookie isn’t – Mother nature asks Sookie to release her human and use her as a “vessel” to balance Maryann’s un-natural intent.
All in all….I just wanted to see more depth, and True Blood season finale did not deliver! And, it left me with no anticipation for next season! Boo hooo!
