Spun in clubs, lounges and stores around the LA area, Gravity’s Job placed Mali on the radar as most anticipated indie Artist to rise up. Receiving global requests for Gravity’s Job album to be shipped to them after selling out from CD Baby. The video for this single has received close to 5k plays on word of mouth marketing alone. Gravity’s Job is the first single released from Intangible Sketches.
The tag line “It’s Gravity’s Job to pull me down not yours” captures the attitude of this first single. The image of Mali suspended in air as if to say not even Gravity can hold her down, or keep her from rising above the things that try and control her. Addressing the natural laws and the un-natural laws of every day living and the pain that comes from these restrictions. Gravity’s Job is about being air born, breaking the un-natural made up rules in order to be free.

Been a while since I’ve seen this video. I still love it.

“Gravity’s Job to pull me down – not yours”. This is why I like artists like Mali who can take a meaningful idea and turn it into a song with an inspiring message – and carry the concept from creation to completion.
People are always limiting or attempting to pull someone else down with their opinions and personal short comings. I can’t feel that energy.

Hi Jas & Issy,
Thanks for the love
This song pretty much wrote itself, since at the time so many people felt they had the right to enforce their opinions and beliefs on me. I’ve cut myself free of them and now enjoy more drama free days.

Issy,
I don’t like that counterproductive energy either. It took me a long while to see it in a person’s behavior that you allow to get too close. But now, I can understand behavior before it can bit me like some rabid animal infected by confusion and irresolution. No beliefs or a lack of, can do a serious number on most people.
@Mali,
I’m enjoying drama free days, too. Although, I had to learn how to get there the hard way, it was worth it
