Yesterday I was working on my computer while the TV show Fringe was playing in the background ( thanks to Hulu). I wasn’t paying close attention to the show until the line “Perception is the key to transformation” jumped out at me (see clip below).
If perception is the key to transformation, then fear must surely be the lock. When we don’t know what to expect, or don’t understand something, our perception locks closed. Instead of taking that leap of faith, we take comfort in not having to face our fears – for now.
As I write this, I am also reminding myself. We are only afraid of what we think is not possible for us to do. Just as the Caterpillar contains the potential to transform into a butterfly, humans contain the potential to become their being. When we perceive reality from this truth we transform our heartbreaks and fear into something beautiful again.
